Mr. Steever has over 30 years of experience in the retail, fashion and ecommerce industries. He has a broad and deep understanding of the diverse and inter-connected functions within retail such as strategy, store operations, merchandising, marketing, ecommerce operations, supply chain, customer service, customer analytics and how technology can be used to support and enhance each of these functions. He has held a diverse set of positions over the years, such as buyer, store manager, consultant, technology director and ecommerce executive. In each role, he has been involved in, or responsible for, driving business and technology change and evolution. Mr. Steever has experience in all phase of technology enablement from strategic planning, functional design, change management, testing, training and implementation. Mr. Steever maintains a strong Omni-channel focus and view of the ever evolving, complex retail landscape.
As a senior Ecommerce executive, he was responsible for developing, driving and implementing e-commerce strategy to maximize sales, with an emphasis on enhancing the customer experience. He was also responsible for digital marketing strategy & execution including SEM, SEO, Re-targeting, Digital Display and the Affiliate network. Mr. Steever oversaw day-to-day ecommerce operations, photo studio operations, site visual merchandising, ecommerce technology and customer service.
Mr. Steever has held various ecommerce, strategy, technology and retail roles with Assouline Publishing, ABC Carpet & Home, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley, and The Vitamin Shoppe. He also has experience launching and managing international ecommerce sites, social media and digital operations for Vera Bradley and Michael Kors in countries such as Japan and Canada. Mr. Steever also spent many years as a senior retail consultant with LakeWest Group and Scott Steever Consulting where he led successful projects for Astor Chocolate, AREA NYC, Champion, Alternative Apparel, Five Story NY, J. Crew, Polo Ralph Lauren, Fortunoff’s, MoMA, Jo Ann Stores, HardRock and Quality Farm and Fleet.
Mr. Steever is also an Adjunct Instructor at The Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) at both the Graduate and Under Graduate level. He has taught classes in Strategic Management, Retail Strategy, Digital Marketing and Social Media.
Mr. Steever graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in History. He also earned his MBA from the University of Maryland-College Park (Smith School of Business) where he focused on Marketing and Information Technology.
